How to Merge Multiple CSV Files into One

4 min read · Updated October 2026

Reports often arrive as one file per month, per store or per region. To analyse them together you need one big file. Merging by hand with copy and paste is slow, and it is easy to lose a row.

Before you merge

  • Check that the files describe the same kind of records.
  • Keep the header row in every file.
  • Give files clear names so you can order them correctly.

How to merge

  • Open CSV Merger and add all your files.
  • Use Up and Down to set the order.
  • Keep Match columns by header name on if the column order differs between files.
  • Check the row count and download merged.csv.

Matching by header

With this option on, a column called Email in file two is placed under Email even if it is the third column there. Columns that exist in only some files are added at the end, with empty cells where the data is missing.

Check the result

Add up the data rows of your input files and compare the total with the merged file. The two numbers should match. Then scan the first and last rows of each part.

Frequently asked questions

Is the header repeated?

No. The header appears once at the top of the merged file.

Can I merge files with different separators?

Yes. Each file is read with its own separator, and the merged file uses commas.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything is processed in your browser.
